Take advantage of complimentary registration to attend the 2014 AADR/ADEA Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill program, April 8, 2014, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The program will begin in the Rayburn House Office Building Gold Room (#2168), and it will include a morning key issues briefing with Members of Congress and staff from select Federal agencies, and an afternoon of individual meetings with Congressional offices.
Last year Congress implemented devastating cuts known as sequestration and shutdown the federal government for 16 days, which had a significant impact on biomedical research, institutions and scientists. Today, the need for enhanced advocacy on behalf of biomedical research is needed. The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013 only reduced a portion of sequestration cuts and future funding levels for the National Institutes of Health need to be determined by Congress.

The schedule for the AADR/ADEA Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill is designed to allow participants to fly or drive into and out of Washington, DC, on the same day if feasible and desired. Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) is the closest (5 miles) to Capitol Hill. However, for participants attending from distant locations, an overnight stay may be required.
